Personal Emergency Response System
A Personal Emergency Response System (PERS) is comprised of three components:
- A small medical alert button that is usually worn as a pendant around the neck but can also be worn on the wrist like a watch or clipped to the waist like a pager or cell phone.
- A medical alert console that functions as a two-way speaker phone and uses your existing land-based telephone line.
- A monitoring center that’s responds 24/7 when the button is pressed.
A PERS systems is ideal for your older or disabled friends and family members. They can use the system in the event of injury, medical emergency, illness, accident, fire, burglary, or any other event where they need assistance. If you are a caregiver or just worried about someone close to you, considering a PERS system can give you peace of mind knowing that your loved one is being watched 24/7 by medically trained dispatchers that can diagnose the emergency and get help to them right away. It also gives your loved one additional independence, safety and security.
It does not matter the type of emergency your loved one has, they could fall, have a seizure, stroke, heart attack, etc…help is just a push of a button away. See if you or your loved ones are at risk. When activated, the medical alert console will automatically call the monitoring center. All of your loved one’s medical location, history and contact list is available to the dispatcher. The Dispatcher will communicate with the patient and diagnose the situation. Some situations call for a simple call to a contact on the patients notification list. If for any reason the dispatcher cannot communicate with the patient, EMS is dispatched and contact is made with the members of the patients call list. If the dispatcher can communicate with the patient and it is determined help is needed, the dispatcher will sent EMS, fire, police, or rescue…whatever is needed to aid your loved one in times of crisis.
