The Linear PERS-2400B is a 24-hour Personal Emergency Reporting System. It is a flexible emergency, fire, and inactivity system that can be , but custom programmed to report several other functions. With 16 reporting zones, it can monitor and report individual emergency alarms for up to 16 users.

The medical alert console receives signals from up to 16 Linear wireless transmitters. Activating a transmitter causes the console’s digital communicator to send the appropriate alarm report to the central monitoring station via the standard telephone network. In addition to the central station report, audible and visual indications occur during an emergency activation.

The emergency alarm can be triggered by the large “EMERGENCY” button on the face of the console or with a wireless transmitter.

If the optional Model VB-4B voice board is installed, the console will talk to the user. In addition, the voice board supports 2-way automatic, 2-way manual, and 1-way listen-only audio communications with central station monitoring personnel using the medical alarm console’s built-in high-sensitivity microphone and speaker.

The console can be programmed to act as a remote controlled speakerphone. With the speakerphone mode enable, the emergency response console will monitor the telephone line for an incoming call. Activating any emergency pendant or transmitter (or the Medical Alert console’s EMERGENCY button) while the telephone is ringing will cause the console to seize the line and begin voice communications. Activating any emergency transmitter (or EMERGENCY button) during the call will disconnect the line.

Supervised transmitters regularly send status reports to the console and low battery reports when their batteries are low. When the medical alert console receives a low battery report, the TROUBLE indicator flashes. If the Console fails to receive a status report from a transmitter for a period of 24 hours, the TROUBLE indicator will light. All conditions can sound a announcement and be reported to the central station.

The emergency medical response console’s digital communicator can route calls to three telephone numbers: primary, secondary, and supervisory.

The medical alarm console has a rechargeable battery backup for operation during power outages. If the battery backup becomes low the POWER light will flash and the low battery can be reported to the central station.

The Model DXS-62A Supervised 1-Button, 1-Channel Pendant/Wristband Transmitter is a battery powered, miniature, water-resistant, supervised transmitter designed for use in emergency applications with Linear’s DX and DXS Format receivers. For increased battery life, the DXS-62A contains larger batteries than the Model DXS-62 and does not contain an audible sounder. Each transmitter is supplied with a wristband, a pocket clip, and an adjustable nylon neck cord with breakaway release. Pressing the button on the transmitter sends a digital coded wireless signal to its companion receiver. To insure sending a complete signal, press the transmitter button for a minimum of two seconds.

Each DXS transmitter is factory set to a unique code, so no field coding is required. The one-button DXS-62A sends a signal when its button is pressed. This transmitter can send a signal for up to 30 seconds per activation. The red signal indicator on the transmitter lights when the unit is activated.

If status transmissions are enabled, they will be sent every two hours. Some receivers are able to use these signals, others are not.

Every two hours the transmitter tests for a low battery. This test takes place even if status transmissions have not been enabled. If the battery tests low, the transmitter’s red indicator will blink slowly and a low battery signal will be sent.

Each transmitter is sealed to provide water-resistance. The unit’s battery is not replaceable. The transmitter should be discarded at the end of its battery life.
